Human Traffickers use advertisements for escorts, massage parlors, strippers, porn videos, etc. making promises of money and fame, trapping people into modern-day slavery. Traffickers look at victims as nothing more than a product that is reusable and disposable. By providing awareness, education, counseling, resources, and inspiration to potential victims, traffickers will no longer have a “product” and will be forced to go “out of business”.
Here are some ways you can combat modern-day slavery:
-
United with others, you can flood websites such as craigslist and backpage which have adult advertisements and post posters which inform men and women about the realities of the sex industry, educate them about modern-day slavery, and to make them stop and think before they answer these advertisements and offer them words of inspiration and resources to change their life. The posters also send a message to traffickers who are using online advertisements that we are watching them, and that they will be stopped.
-
You can also contact local newspapers that have adult advertisements and inform them that traffickers use these advertisements to trap people into modern-day slavery. Keep contacting them until they stop publishing adult advertisements.
-
You can also post flyers and stencil posters in communities which are vulnerable to human trafficking on walls, telephone poles, bars, etc. These posters share a message of hope to the victims and potential victims. They also speak a powerful message to traffickers that there is a movement of people watching them, and that they will be stopped.

Through life-transforming programs, initiatives, and mission work in the streets united with others, the Hope Movement confronts human suffering: violence that strips widows and orphans of their property and livelihoods, poverty that drains families of hope, family dysfunction that causes children to make their beds in the streets, hunger that consumes life with inner pain, addiction that pollutes the soul, abuse that rips innocence from a child and robs of them a peaceful future, violence that steals dignity and health from children trafficked into forced prostitution, violence that denies freedom and security to families trapped in slavery.
Suffering of the poor is not driven by the overwhelming power of the perpetrators – it is driven by the vulnerability of the victims, and the lack of unity and passionate individuals who will step out of their comfort zone, unite, and reach those who are longing for hope. This suffering can be stopped when the power of God is released to flood the streets with hope, transforming communities into havens of hope, and when we step out of our comfort zone, and unite to become a movement of hope. One person unites with another and becomes a ripple, as more unite they become a movement, forming a flood of hope, flowing through the streets, transforming all that is in their path with the power of unified actions of love.
Outside of the comfort zone of your daily life there are millions of people longing for love and hope. People who are suffering from abuse, oppression, and depression. Imagine yourself reaching back, bringing hope to the hopeless, transforming communities into havens of hope.
Through our Hope Movement Chapters and National Mission Teams from local churches you can reach out to people who are longing for hope right in your own community. 50,000 women and children are trafficked annually into the United States as slaves, they abide where you reside. Hundreds of homeless are living on the streets outside of your door. Thousands of women and children are being abused in your own community. There are thousands of elderly that feel forgotten. Thousands of people are feeling hopeless and are turning to drugs, selling their bodies, considering suicide, and are reaching out to you for help.
